Smart Lock: Mounting and Installation

You can easily mount the Nuki Smart Lock on the inside of your door. In this article, you can find additional information on the installation.

Tip: Use the Nuki App

You will need the Nuki App to mount the Smart Lock. Simply open the Nuki App, tap on the menu (three bars at the top left corner), and select "Manage devices". If you are new to Nuki, open the App and select "Set up device". The Nuki App will guide you through mounting. The following instructions will give you some additional information concerning the mounting.

Overview of mounting the Smart Lock US: The mounting plate is fixed to the door with screws. Next, an adapter is placed on the mounting plate. The Smart Lock then goes on top of that.

1. Secure the lock on the outside of your door

Attach the door lock to the outside of your door using the supplied adhesive strip. This ensures that it cannot come loose while mounting the Smart Lock.

2. Remove the knob on the inside of your door

Remove the screws on the inside of your lock. Take off the knob and cover. You will need the screws later to attach the mounting plate.
After you have removed the knob, you can see the tailpiece.

3. Measure the tailpiece overhang

Use the measurement card to measure the tailpiece overhang on the inside of your door.
Place the card on the door and check if the tailpiece is within the markings.

Green check mark.svg Is the tailpiece's length within the green area? You can directly attach the mounting plate (Step 4).

Yellow exclamation mark.svg Is the tailpiece's length within the yellow area? Mount the supplied extension plate (Step 3a).

Does the length of the tailpiece exceed the maximum length? Please contact our customer support.

3a. Extend the mounting plate using the extension plate

Is the length of the tailpiece within the yellow range of the measurement card? Mount the supplied extension plate.

  1. First, take the included extension plate and the screws.
  2. Remove the screws from the mounting plate to disassemble the mounting plate into its components (1, 2 & 3). You will need the screws later.
  3. Take parts (1) and (2) of the mounting plate. Place the extension plate on top of them. Then, place part (3) of the mounting plate on the extension plate.
  4. Screw the four parts together using the screws you removed to disassemble the mounting plate. Ensure that the markings on the mounting and extension plates are facing upwards.

4. Attach the mounting plate

The marking on the mounting plate shows you how to attach it. Make sure that the marking on the mounting plate is at the top.

Fix the mounting plate to the door using the screws you removed from your door earlier.

5. Choose the fitting adapter

Three adapters are included in the delivery. Choose an adapter that fits your door's tailpiece. Place the adapter on the tailpiece to connect it to the Smart Lock in the next step.

6. Mount your Smart Lock

Make sure that the marking on the Smart Lock is at the top. Then, turn the Smart Lock to the right until it snaps into place. You hear a clicking sound when it snaps into place. Your Smart Lock is correctly positioned if the lettering "Nuki" is centered at the top.
