  • Smart Lock Pro (4th Generation)

Matter enables seamless integration into leading Smart Home ecosystems. To integrate your Smart Lock into your Smart Home, you need a suitable hub that supports Matter via Thread. Compatible hubs include devices from Apple Home, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and Amazon Alexa. Activate Matter through the Nuki App when you set up your device. Alternatively, you can scan the Matter QR code. Manage your Matter connection in the app, enable or disable remote access, add the lock to other smart home systems, or delete the connection.

Choose a compatible hub

To integrate your Smart Lock into your Smart Home, you need a suitable hub that supports Matter via Thread. Matter communicates via Thread, enhancing the stability and speed of your Smart Home network.

Note:

You need a suitable hub that supports Matter via Thread. Note that some hubs only support Matter via Wi-Fi. Due to the high energy consumption of Wi-Fi, Nuki will continue to only support Matter via Thread in the future.

Activating Matter via the Nuki App

You can activate Matter for your Smart Lock during the initial setup or through the device settings. Ensure that you have a Matter-capable hub and are within Bluetooth range of your Smart Lock.

Steps to activate Matter

  1. Open your Nuki App and select your Smart Lock.
  2. Go to device settings.
  3. Under “Features & Configuration“, find “Integrations“ at the bottom.
  4. Tap on “Smart Home“ and select “Matter“. The app will display supported Smart Home apps installed on your smartphone.
  5. Open your preferred Smart Home app. Scan the Matter QR code of your Smart Lock or enter the numeric code. You find these on the back of the Smart Lock and in the packaging.
  6. Follow the instructions in your Smart Home app to complete the activation.

Your Smart Lock is now integrated into your Smart Home via Matter.

Manage the Matter connection

The Nuki App offers several options for managing your Matter connection.

Access Matter settings

  1. Open the settings of your Smart Lock in the Nuki App.
  2. Select “Features & Configuration“ and navigate to “Smart Home“.
  3. Tap on “Matter“ to enter the overview screen.

Available options

  • Enable/Disable Remote Access: Enable or disable remote access via Thread. Remote access allows you to use all features of the Nuki App on the go without a Bridge or built-in Wi-Fi module.
  • Add to another Smart Home system: Connect your Smart Lock to additional Smart Home systems using another Matter Smart Home hub. The additional hub does not need to be Thread-compatible.
  • Delete connection: When you remove the Matter connection, your Smart Lock is unavailable via Matter. This connection will be irreversibly deleted. To reconnect, you must perform the Matter activation flow again.
