- Smart Lock 2.0
- Smart Lock 3.0
- Smart Lock 3.0 Pro
Smart Lock 2.0 and 3.0 support HomeKit via Bluetooth. After scanning the QR code with your Home app you can assign your Smart Lock to a specific home and room and then control it via your Apple device. From the Smart Lock (4th Generation) onwards, you can integrate your Smart Lock into the Apple Home environment via the Matter protocol.
Setup instructions
Apple HomeKit via Bluetooth allows you to control your Smart Lock via your iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV, or Apple HomePod.
- Open your Home app and scan the HomeKit QR code: The code can be found on the back or bottom of your Smart Lock und on the small insert slip. You recognize it by the HomeKit logo.
- Assign your Smart Lock to a specific home and room to complete the installation.
The Home app allows you to control your Smart Lock for everyday use. However, you need the Nuki app to use all the features of the Smart Lock. These include the initial setup, sending permissions to friends and family and remote access to the Smart Lock.
Troubleshooting
Error scanning HomeKit code: If the app displays an error when scanning the code from the package, try scanning the code directly from the Smart Lock.
For Smart Lock 3.0 and Smart Lock 3.0 Pro, you can find the HomeKit code on the back of the device.
For the Smart Lock 2.0, you can find the HomeKit code on the bottom of the device.
Lost HomeKit code: If you have lost the sticker with the HomeKit code, contact the Nuki Support team with your Smart Lock ID. You’ll find the ID under ”Features & Configuration” > ”General”.
Matter via Thread replaces HomeKit via Bluetooth
From the Smart Lock (4th generation) onwards, Matter via Thread replaces HomeKit via Bluetooth. Smart Locks can now be easily integrated into the Apple Home environment via the Matter protocol. Every HomePod (Mini) and Apple TV with an additional Ethernet connection supports Matter via Thread.
Benefits of Matter
- Improved connectivity: Matter via Thread provides a more robust and reliable connection compared to Bluetooth.
- Seamless integration: Easily integrates with Apple Home, ensuring a smooth user experience across all Apple devices.
