- Nuki Smart Hosting
With Nuki Smart Hosting you can send digital keys directly to your guests from your Property Management System. Your guests will receive a message with invitation codes for the booked accommodation before the check-in time. After the check-out time, permissions are automatically deleted. You can customize the invitation settings to suit your preferences.
By default, an invitation is automatically sent to your guests 72 hours before the check-in time. This message includes:
- Individual invitation codes for all guests.
- Instructions on using Nuki devices.
- If applicable, Keypad entry codes to unlock the door without using the Nuki App.
Your guests' permissions will be valid from the earliest check-in time specified in your listing and will be automatically deleted after the check-out time. Guests will receive an automated farewell message with a link to remove the Nuki device from their Nuki app after check-out.
Invitation settings
You can customize the invitation settings to suit your preferences. To do this:
- Click on the listing in your Nuki Web account.
- Access the settings.
- Here you can specify:
- Time at which guests receive the invitation
- Recipients of the invitation
(”Me and my guests”, ”Only my guests”, ”Only me”, ”Nobody”)
Airbnb Messaging System
When using Airbnb, Nuki invitations are sent to your guests through the Airbnb messaging system by default. This method provides a simple and efficient way to communicate with your guests.
You have the following options:
- ”Me and my guests” (in the Airbnb app, API option): This default option ensures both you and your guests receive the invitation through the Airbnb app.
- ”Only me” (via email): Only you, as the host, receive the invitation via email. Guests do not receive app messages or emails, and you need to manually share the invitation and Keypad entry codes with them.
- Both options: Guests receive their invitation through the Airbnb messaging system, and you receive an email with the same information as a backup.
Customization and language settings
The message generated by Nuki is automatic and follows the language settings configured by your guests in the respective booking portal.
Custom templates for sending invitation codes are available with some property management software providers. Contact your provider for more information on creating and using placeholders for the invitation code. Ensure that any custom templates are sent only after the code is generated to avoid timing issues.
Troubleshooting for managing permissions
Your guests will receive a message with invitation codes for the booked accommodation before the check-in time. After the check-out time, permissions are automatically deleted.
Additionally you can trigger these actions manually:
- Navigate to the ”Short Term Rental” section in Nuki Web. Select the relevant listing to view the active booking(s).
- Click on ”Activate Now” or ”Deactivate Now” next to the booking to manually trigger the process.
- You can also manually create and manage permissions for your device at any time via Nuki Web or the Nuki App.
