- Smart Lock 4th Generation
- All previous generations
The Nuki Power Pack is a powerful rechargeable battery pack for your Nuki Smart Lock (4th generation and all previous generations). It ensures an optimal power supply and battery life of up to 6 months.
Mounting the Power Pack
First, remove the battery compartment of your Smart Lock. The battery compartment is located on the bottom of the Smart Lock. To open it, push the small lever toward the arrow. When the battery compartment is removed from the Smart Lock, you can simply plug in the Power Pack.
Please note that compared to the battery compartment you have to use more force to insert the Nuki Power Pack into the Smart Lock. It is best to stabilize the Smart Lock with one hand from above while pushing the Power Pack upwards until you hear the typical clicking sound.
Charging the Power Pack
Please charge your Power Pack with the enclosed USB cable. A standard USB-C charging cable (50 cm, USB-A to USB-C) is included in the delivery.
We recommend the Amazon 5W USB Original Charger and Power Adapter for optimal performance.
Two ways to charge the Power Pack
- You can remove the Power Pack from the Smart Lock to charge it with a standard USB-C charging cable (included). The Nuki Power Pack is located on the bottom of the Smart Lock. To open it, press the small lever in the arrow direction and take the Power Pack out of the Smart Lock. Then, charge the Power Pack and reinsert it into the Smart Lock.
- The Power Pack can also be charged directly on the door while inserted into the Smart Lock. To do this, plug a USB-C charging cable in the appropriate length into one of the two USB-C ports of the Nuki Power Pack. Be careful not to block the door with the cable to avoid damaging the Power Pack. Thus, a permanent power supply of the Smart Lock is possible. You can now use the Smart Lock while it is charging.
Further information on charging the Power Pack
- The average charging time from empty to full is about 10 hours. During the charging process the LED flashes. When the Nuki Power Pack is fully charged the LED turns off.
- The Power Pack reaches the total charging capacity after 2–3 charging processes.
- Note: The charging process is only started when the charge level has dropped below 75%. This is to protect the battery.
- At a power level of 20% Nuki will notify you via the Nuki App and directly on the Smart Lock. So there is enough time to replace the batteries of your Smart Lock. In case you are not able to change the batteries or to charge the battery of your Nuki Power Pack in time, you can still use your existing, mechanical key.
- If you bought your Smart Lock or Power Pack before July 2024, it does not support fast charging (Power Delivery). Therefore, charging the Nuki Power Pack with a modern charger that uses this so-called Power Delivery technology may not work successfully. The new Power Packs (sold after July 2024) support this technology. Therefore, you can charge your Power Pack even faster.
Average battery life of the Power Pack
The Power Pack provides an additional 1-2 months of battery life over Alkali batteries. The integrated cells deliver more usable energy due to lower self discharge rate effectively leading to a longer battery life of the Smart Lock. With this innovation, you won't need to recharge your Power Pack as frequently, and your Smart Lock will be optimally powered.
