This article concerns:
- Door Sensor
- Smart Lock 3.0 and newer
The Door Sensor is designed for high reliability and includes integrated tamper detection, providing additional security for your Smart Home. However, if you encounter issues, you can resolve them by reactivating or recalibrating the Door Sensor.
Reactivating the Door Sensor
When to reactivate the Door Sensor
- The Door Sensor does not report any status changes.
- The Door Sensor reports an incorrect status.
- An error occurred during the initial setup.
Steps to reactivate the Door Sensor
- Deactivate the Door Sensor: This step is necessary even if the Door Sensor hasn’t been fully set up.
- Open the Nuki App and tap on your Smart Lock connected to your Door Sensor.
- Navigate to ”Features & Configuration” > ”Manage Nuki Door Sensor” > ”Deactivate Nuki Door Sensor”. - Restart setup: After deactivation, proceed to set up and calibrate the Door Sensor again.
- Follow the instructions in the Nuki App under ”Manage Nuki Door Sensor”.
Recalibrate the Door Sensor
When to recalibrate the Door Sensor
- The Door Sensor shows the wrong status.
- The Door Sensor has been affected by external influences like temperature changes.
- There have been changes in the positioning of the sensor or the magnet.
Steps to recalibrate the Door Sensor
- Check the installation: Ensure the sensor and magnet are mounted correctly.
- Calibrate the Door Sensor:
- Open the Nuki App and tap on your Smart Lock connected to your Door Sensor.
- Navigate to ”Features & Configuration” > ”Manage Nuki Door Sensor” > ”Calibrate Nuki Door Sensor”.
- Follow the in-app instructions.
Note:
During calibration, the sensor measures the magnetic field strength of the magnet at different door states (closed, ajar, open) to learn and recognize these conditions accurately.
Move the door slowly during calibration to ensure optimal detection of magnetic field changes.
