Network traffic

High network traffic can lead to higher power consumption.

A high amount of traffic within your home network affects the power consumption of your Smart Lock. Network traffic is the amount of data moving across a network at any given time. The devices in your network are connected to each other via the router. Your Smart Lock therefore also receives data packets from other devices in the same network. The ongoing communication prevents the Smart Lock from entering the power-saving sleep mode.
To reduce power consumption, bring your Smart Lock online via a guest Wi-Fi. This way it is isolated from the rest of the communication in your home network and consumes less power.
