As your Nuki Smart Lock is installed on the inside of your door, nobody will recognize that you have Nuki in use. Thus, burglars can’t gain any advantage and there is no impact on your insurance coverage. Nuki has no impact on the security class of your door and your insurance coverage. It is not necessary to inform your insurance company about it.
The Nuki Universal Cylinder has the highest security class (SKG***), upgrading your door to state-of-the art security. Beware: For safety reasons, the overhang of the cylinder on the outside of the door should not exceed 3mm.
If you want extra peace of mind, you can always check with your insurance company – simply point out the retrofit nature of the smart lock or share the security specifications of the Nuki Universal Cylinder.
If you lose your mechanical key, you have to exchange your cylinder. If you use Nuki and lose your smartphone, you just need to withdraw the access permission of your lost smartphone and generate a new permission for the new smartphone.
