For your Smart Door you can have different actions confirmed by a sound. For example, when someone locked or unlocked your door, you will receive an acoustic confirmation. If an error occurs, your Smart Door will also give you acoustic feedback.
For acoustic signaling, there are three signal types of different duration: short, long and very long signals.
Acoustic signals if someone unlocked or locked your Smart Door
New lock state | Buzzer signaling |
---|---|
Open/unlocked | 2 short beeps |
Locked | 3 short beeps |
Acoustic signals if an error occurred
If an error occurs and your Smart Door is in “Failure mode”, the longest signal is played once per minute. In addition, different acoustic patterns signal which error occurred:
Error type | Buzzer signaling |
---|---|
Mechanical error (e.g. blocked motor) |
10 long beeps |
Other error (e.g. communication error) This error functions as a signal. You do not have to take action. |
6 long beeps |
Warning You are trying to unlock or lock your door while it is open. |
1 long beep |
Warning You are trying to perform Bluetooth pairing even though the feature is disabled. |
2 long beeps |
Ready for use again After a power cut (i.e. after a storm) your Smart Door is connected to power again. |
2 short beeps |
Adjusting the signal volume
The perceived volume of the acoustic feedback varies depending on the door's material, the type of installation, and the structural conditions on site. Some materials have a strong sound-absorbing effect.
You can lower the sound level. To adjust the volume, simply select the desired Smart Door in the Nuki App and go to the settings. Now choose “Features & Configuration” “Button, LED & Sound” “Sound”. Here you can configure the Sound level as Normal, Low or Off.
