Manage lock permissions in Nuki Web

In this article, you will find information on how to manage lock permissions for your devices as an administrator of a Nuki Web account. There are four user types: Nuki Web users, Nuki App users, Keypad entry codes and Fob authorizations. While you can merge Nuki App and Fob users with a Nuki Web user, this is not possible for Keypad entry codes. As an administrator, you can create new permissions at any time and set time restrictions and remote access via the Nuki Web interface. Lock permissions can be edited, merged or temporarily deactivated.

User Types

As the administrator of a Nuki Web account, you can manage all lock permissions and users for your devices. A permission can be one of the following user types:

Nuki Web user

  • Created via Nuki Web.
  • Connected to an email, allowing permissions for multiple devices.

The invited user gets an email with the invitation code to add the Nuki device(s) to the Nuki App.

Nuki App user

  • Created via the Nuki App.
  • Limited to the specific device: You cannot assign any additional permissions.
  • However, you can merge App users to a Web user’s email.

Keypad entry code

  • Created via Nuki Web or App.
  • You cannot merge codes with Web users.
  • Tip: Rename codes to easily identify them in the activity log.

The invited user receives an entry code for the Nuki device paired with the Keypad.

Nuki Fob

  • You have to be in Bluetooth range to pair the Fob with a device.
  • Once paired you can manage the Fob via Nuki Web.

Creating a new Web user and lock permission(s)

  1. Go to the ”Users” section in your Web account.
  2. Click on ”Create new user +” and enter the user’s name and email.
  3. Grant access to one or multiple devices by selecting the devices.
  4. Set time restrictions and decide on remote access.
  5. Choose the language for the invitation email, which expires after 48 hours.

Creating a new Keypad entry code

  1. Go to the ”Users” section and click on ”Entry Codes & Fingerprints”.
  2. Click ”Create new entry code +” and select the device(s).
  3. Name the entry code, set time restrictions and save it.

Editing existing permissions

Go to the „Users” section in your Web account and select the user from the list to view permission details.
You can…

  1. Add new permissions to the Web user.
  2. Edit existing permissions.
  3. Delete permissions.
  4. Temporarily deactivate permissions without deleting them.

Merging users

  1. Select the app user to merge.
  2. Go to ”Edit” and choose ”Merge with existing user” in the dropdown menu.
  3. Select the Nuki Web user. The app user’s permission is assigned to the Web user’s email, combining their access under the Web user’s name.
Note:

Keypad codes cannot be merged with Nuki Web users.
