How to replace the batteries of the Door Sensor

This article concerns:
  • Door Sensor
  • Smart Lock 3.0 and newer

The Door Sensor operates on a 3.6V lithium battery (½ AA ER14250) with a lifespan of approximately 2 years. The Nuki App notifies you when the battery level drops to 20%.

Steps to replace batteries

The battery compartment is located on the back of the Door Sensor. It is closed by the back panel of the Door Sensor, which serves as a mounting plate.
To open the battery compartment, remove the Door Sensor from the mounting plate.
If your Door Sensor is already mounted, just hold it on both sides and pull the housing forward.

The Door Sensor operates efficiently by spending most of its time in sleep mode, minimizing power consumption. The sensor activates only during a door status change, transmitting data via Bluetooth to the Smart Lock, and then returns to sleep mode automatically.
