Your Smart Module has two outputs and one input. Depending on the type of lock system, you may be able to wire and configure additional features, such as Passage Mode, or an external switch or door sensor via these outputs and input. This article provides context on what you can configure via the Nuki App.
How to configure the two outputs and input.
Before adjusting anything in the configuration, make sure you have checked your lock system type and wired your Smart Module accordingly.
After wiring it correctly, open the Nuki App and tap on your Smart Module. Then go to ”Settings” > “Features & Configuration” > “General” > “Configure Smart Module“.
Note on the passage mode: Whether you can configure it via your 1st or 2nd output depends on your lock system type.
1st output
The 1st output is always used to operate your main door. Depending on your lock system type and whether it is wired accordingly, the 1st output can also be configured as Passage Mode.
2nd output
The 2nd output is disabled by default. Depending on your lock system type and whether it is wired accordingly, it can be configured as follows:
- Passage mode for the main door: Your main door will stay open. Simply push it open to walk through.
- Other output: You can operate a light switch, for example, or another simple door, such as a mailbox. With this feature, the Nuki App displays an additional lock action button on the home screen: “Control other output”. You can also adjust swipe actions, auto unlock expert settings, schedule a timer, and adjust fob actions to also control the second output.
Input
The input is disabled by default. Depending on your lock system type and whether it is wired accordingly, it can be configured as follows:
- External door sensor: Know whether your door is standing open or is securely closed. The external door sensor of your door functions the same way as the Nuki Door Sensor.
- External switch: Use the switch to unlock your door. Here, you can adjust what you want the switch to do when you press it once, or twice.
