Troubleshooting a 4A error

A 4A error indicates that the Smart Lock cannot turn its main motor. Here you can find some troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Install the latest Smart Lock firmware.
  2. Remove the batteries and take your Smart Lock off the door
  3. Make sure the batteries are fully charged, or take new batteries. 
  4. Reinsert the batteries. 
  5. The Smart Lock will then start to turn (this will take approximately 20 seconds).
    Note: Did it not start turning? Reinsert the batteries and try turning it by hand in the same direction that you lock your door. 
  6. Take the batteries out again and repeat steps 4) and 5) twice.
  7. Put the Smart Lock back on your door.
  8. Calibrate your Smart Lock.
