- Smart Lock Ultra
Without a backup you can transfer many of the settings you use to a new Smart Lock Ultra. Please note that you must be connected to your existing Smart Lock to create a backup.
How to create a backup for your Smart Lock
- Open the Nuki App and select the Smart Lock from which you want to create the backup.
- Choose ”Features & Configuration” and go to ”General”.
- Tap on ”Backup”. The Nuki App will now guide you step by step through the data backup process.
Once you have created a backup, you can transfer the saved information to your Smart Lock. This makes setting up a newly purchased Smart Lock even easier and more convenient.
Can I choose specific information to be included in a backup?
Currently, you cannot select individual areas to be backed up. When you create a backup, all available data will be saved. If certain information cannot be captured for technical reasons, we will perform the backup as completely as possible. You will be notified in the Nuki App if any data fails to be successfully backed up.
Can Nuki automatically create backups?
Currently, backups cannot be created automatically. To create a backup, go to the settings of your Smart Lock and select ”Features & Configuration” > ”General" and tap on ”Backup”.
Only one backup is stored per Smart Lock. If you create another backup, the previously created one will be overwritten. Each backup you create is saved with a timestamp so you can always track when the last data backup was performed.
When adding a new Smart Lock, the Nuki App will ask whether you want to transfer a saved backup. If a connection to your old Smart Lock still exists, you can also create a backup before setting up the new Smart Lock.
How your data is managed
When you create a backup from your Smart Lock, the data is stored locally on your smartphone within the Nuki App. No data is transferred to the Nuki server or stored in the cloud.
