By setting up a security code you can protect your Nuki device against unauthorized access.
Which areas in the Nuki app are protected by the Security Code?
When you wish to manage your Nuki device or access sensitive information, the Nuki App will ask you to enter your security code.
These areas are protected by the security code:
- Features & Configuration
- Lock Permissions
- Activity Log
Only users who know this code can manage lock permissions, view the activity log or change the device configuration.
The lock icon marks the areas in your Nuki app that can be protected by a security code.
Every user who knows the security code can make changes to the device configuration. This means that there is no exclusive administrator for the Nuki app. Users who know the security code can therefore view the areas mentioned above. Users who do not know it, do not have access to configuration, activity log and lock permissions.
The Nuki App offers you the option to "Remember Security Code". This allows you to manage your Nuki device more easily and quickly in your Nuki App.
Changing the security code
To change your security code, tap on the desired device in the Nuki App and open the device settings. Then select "Features & Configuration" > "General". Here you can configure your security code.
Please note that you can only change your security code if you know your existing security code.
Smart Lock Ultra: enhanced 6-digit security code
The 6-digit security code protects your Smart Lock Ultra from unauthorized access. For security reasons, setting a 6-digit security code is required for setting up and managing your Smart Lock Ultra. You also need the code whenever you want to connect your Smart Lock to other devices via Bluetooth.
Smart Lock Ultra: connecting to new devices
For security reasons, entering the security code is always required when connecting your Smart Lock to devices like smartphones or smart accessories via Bluetooth.
Here's how you can pair your Smart Lock with another device:
- Put your Smart Lock into pairing mode by pressing the Smart Lock button for five seconds until the LED lights up continuously.
- The Nuki App will now ask you to enter the security code. The Bluetooth connection between the devices will only be established once the code has been successfully entered.
In this way, we ensure that only people you have authorized, gain access to your Smart Lock.
For security reasons, connecting to other devices always requires entering the security code, even if you have the "Remember Security Code" option enabled in your Nuki App. Please make a note of your security code so you can pair your Smart Lock with another device when needed.
Without knowing the security code, it is not possible to access sensitive information or connect to the Smart Lock.
Forgot your security code?
You have forgotten the security code for your Nuki device and no other user knows your code? You need to reset the Nuki device to factory settings.
